Job Vacancy – Funded Apprentice Architectural Technologist (Full time, including study).

The Company: We are an established and progressive design practice based at Nayland in the beautiful Stour Valley.

The Company activity: We provide architectural drawings for new buildings, extensions, and renovations, for mainly residential, but also commercial properties. Our team frequently work on Listed Buildings and on diverse or complicated planning applications. The ‘Passivhaus’ standard is of great interest to us.

The Candidate: We wish to recruit an employee who works to the highest standards, is passionate about Architecture, and is a good team player.

Personal qualities:

  • To be thorough, conscientious, and punctual.
  • To have flair, creativity, and a good eye for design.
  • To be a good communicator and be able to work as both part of a team and independently.
  • To be keen to progress through work and study.

Skills required (essential):

  • To have sufficiently good grades to be able to enrol on a CIAT approved Architectural degree.

  • To be able to demonstrate agility and the ability to learn new computer skills quickly.
  • To be able to drive or soon be able to, with access to their own transport.

Job general description: To be able to work on and learn all our work processes, which will include:

  • Carrying out site surveys and producing ‘survey as existing’ drawings.
  • Preparing schemes and furthering to planning stage, including associated documentation.
  • Preparing working drawings, together with other information for Building Regulations application.
  • Seeing the project through the Building Regulation stage, including any amendments.
  • Assisting client and/or contractor through the construction stage.
  • To have a good knowledge of construction details, Building Regulations, construction materials and methods.
