Creating an open plan, fun and sociable space.

The existing dwelling was a 1950’s bungalow, that was a bit tired and dated, but had a superb garden. The existing kitchen and remaining layout was generally tight and oppressive and generally undesirable.

The clients brief was extend the rear of the house, open it up to the garden and create a modern and social space to enjoy with the family and their many friends. The large glazed sliding doors are central to this and a key factor to achieving the brief. The style and finishes have all been updated to further rid the building of its dull past. They also required a double garage to the front, a detached building with bar, gym and storage space.

The result has created social space, both inside and out, that allows for great times with the family or friends or both.
