Project: Proposed change of use from Builders Merchant to 5 Residential Dwellings.

Location: NAYLAND, SUFFOLK

A residential development for 5 dwellings on a redundant builder’s merchant yard.

Travis Perkins exited the site in 2019, following an unsuccessful marketing campaign to find an alternative tenant for the site, the proposed scheme was submitted for Planning permission and approved in May 2023.

Our design work involved several different options on the best way to lay the site out, considering, the vehicular access from the neighbouring development, the frontage to the road, creating the best private space for the rear gardens, and considering natural light and views for all 5 dwellings, the following design was chosen.

The height and proportion of the 2 buildings are designed to sit comfortably with the neighbouring properties and the design is traditional aiming the complement the existing commercial buildings to the south of the site.

The development site has received many complimentary comments and will hopefully be built in 2024/2025.
