Project: New detached contemporary dwelling.

Location: Acton, Suffolk.

  • This site is adjacent to a Grade 2 Listed building

    Careful consideration was needed at the design stage with regard to the impact on this neighbouring historic building.

    The dwelling is part single storey and part two storeys; the two storey part is at the rear of the dwelling ensuring no negative impact to the neighbouring Listed Building.

    The new dwelling is contemporary in its design, creating a contrast to the surroundings. The construction of the building is high performance and sustainable, with a green roof, photo voltaic panels, good quality components and high levels of insulation.

    The application was supported by the Parish Council and the community generally; it will be an iconic building for the Village and something to be appreciated for years to come.
